Irene Guevara de Haro

Profile

Irene Guevara de Haro is a Ph.D. student in Psychology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Her studies focus on the origins and development of intentional communication and self-regulation in everyday contexts. She has centered her Thesis on the development of gestures and their communicative and self-regulatory functions in the infants’ classroom of the nursery school, under the supervision of Dr. Cintia Rodríguez.

She is Msc. in Educational Psychology (UAM) and has a graduate degree in Psychology (Universidad Central de Venezuela – UCV), specializing in clinical psychology. She convalidated her graduate studies at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED, Spain).

Irene is currently part of the UAM research project “Early Development, Communication / Interaction, and Diversity to understand the Neurodevelopmental Disorders (DeCIDiT)” – SI2/PBG/2020-00016, with the participation of the UNED, the King’s College of London and the University of Portsmout. She has also collaborated in different research projects at the UAM, such as Accompany and promote language development in the first cycle of early childhood education. Multimodal indicators of communication and self-regulation processes (APLEI)” PGC2018-095275-A-100 –  and “Assessment and trajectories of communicative and linguistic development up to four years: a multifunctional and integrative analysis” – PSI2013-44250-P.

She has dedicated part of her professional life to the clinical and psychoeducational care of children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disorders and communication difficulties (Autism spectrum disorders and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder).
